This is one that we hope you never need to use. (We have had a whole article on I love you in Spanish, and that’s way more fun!). But who knows, there may come a situation where you just have to say I hate you in Spanish. After all, you won’t love everyone that you meet!
- I hate you – Te odio
- I hate you – Te detesto
- I despise you – Te desprecio
Is hate too strong a word? Here are a few slightly “gentler” ways of implying that you hate someone in Spanish, without coming outright and saying it:
- Leave me alone – Déjame en paz
- You’re the worst! – ¡Eres el/la peor!
- I don’t like you – No me gustas
- I am not a big fan of you… – No soy un gran admirador tuyo…
If you have conflicting feelings, you might use one of these phrases:
- I hate that I love you – Odio amarte
- I hate myself for loving you – Me odio por amarte
- How can I hate you? – ¿Cómo puedo odiarte?
